Information for Parents & Guardians

Being a parent of a teenager can be tough work. During these times conflict can occur and sometimes young people may think about leaving the family home. This can be a very stressful time for both parents and the young people. There are many reasons why conflict occurs during this time and it is often associated with the rapid changes that occur during adolescence.

Reconnect works with young people aged between 12–18 and their families who live throughout Victoria.

How We Can Help

• Offer mediation to you and your child.
• Provide you with support to access relevant services.
  (counselling, income support, conflict resolution)
• Help young people to stay at home or return home.
• Help young people to stay at school.
• Act as an advocate for you and your child when working with other services.
