Guidelines for applying for the Youth Employment Education and Training Initiative (YEETI)

YEETI funding is available to purchase activities, equipment and provide subsidies that directly benefit a young person to effectively access:
• Employment.
• Education
• Training

The YEETI funding can encompass an integrated package of SAAP-like support and mentoring along with various combinations of education and training assistance, and time limited employment and accommodation subsidies. Packages could comprise combination of:
• Cost of SAAP-like support and mentoring for periods beyond six months
• In some cases, when a young person is not a public or a community housing tenant, a rental subsidy of up to $50 per week could be provided to keep rent cost capped at 25% of income.

WHO CAN APPLY?
YEETI packages will be available to agencies engaged in the Homelessness Service System that provide housing and SAAP support to homeless young people.

TARGET GROUP
For a young person to be eligible the following criteria must apply:
• Aged between 15 – 25 years
• Homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless
• Not in regular employment
• Have experienced long term difficulties in maintaining stable accommodation and overcoming barriers to participation in employment, education and training.

 

APPLICATION CHECKLIST

1.     Check that your service and the young person fit the criteria

2.    Managing Personal Futures Applications should be discussed with the YEETI Administrator before submitting

3.    Before sending any application to the YEETI Administrator please check:

-       Any necessary quotes are attached

-       The ‘Consent to Disclosure of Personal Information’ form has been signed by the young person and worker making application
