Overview Of Melbourne Citymission (MCM )
Melbourne Citymission is widely recognised within the community services sector as a leader and innovator in the provision of support services within the community. The organization provides assistance to over 18,000 Victorians across fifty programs in six key service areas consisting of
• Youth Homelessness,
• Employment Education and Training,
• Children,
• Youth,
• Adult and Family,
• Disability, Palliative Care,
• Aged Care.
The services are delivered in the Central, North East, North West, and Western areas of Melbourne with some services having statewide coverage.

Melbourne Citymission is recognised as a leader and innovator in the provision of youth homeless assistance and employment education and training services in metropolitan Melbourne and the wider Victorian community. Drawing on evidenced based and client focused practice, MCM currently delivers a comprehensive range of services including crisis and transitional housing support, housing information and referral, family mediation, vocational pathway support and skills innovation. Young people are highly involved in the collaborative process through participation in advisory groups, individual consultations, focus groups and highly participatory programs such as Jobs Placement Employment, Maribyrnong Gateway Project and Training and Slingshot Self -employment program.
This practice is further informed and complimented by extensive networks and cross-sector partnerships, program evaluation, local and academic research and policy and program development. Melbourne Citymission has forged strong working relationships with local, state and federal governments, employers and the business sector, twice winning the Prime Minister's Award for Community Business Partnerships. As a result of this approach Melbourne Citymission is at the forefront of providing effective services to address the barriers faced by the homelss and/or disengaged communities of young people.
Melbourne Citymission is an integral partner in numerous local and statewide pilot programs that are investigating practical and system-based solutions relating to youth homelessness and employment, education and training services. Melbourne Citymission is utilising this information to improve its practice, strengthen service coordination and contribute to policy and program development opportunities.
